Champ Jaxon is a blues-rock musician from Punta Gorda, FL. He inherited his love of music from his family, attending his first concert three weeks prior to his birth and going to his first music festival at age three, where he saw The Allman Brothers on their farewell tour. Lying on the grass at the “Peach Stage” at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park, hearing Gregg Allman croon “..and the road goes on forever…” as he sang the timeless “Midnight Rider” lit something inside Champ, and he has been passionately developing his craft since then. He began playing ukulele and taking music lessons at age four and began playing guitar at age six. Champ made his musical debut in the Spring of 2018 at a local youth talent showcase, and has played at various venues throughout southwest Florida since. He recorded a version of his original song, “Runnin’ and Doomed”, at the Ryman Auditorium’s studio in Nashville, Tennessee in the Fall of 2018 and is currently working on an EP of originals and his favorite covers that is due for a December 2019 release. Champ currently plays an Epiphone Les Paul Junior through a vintage 1950’s Guild amplifier and proudly uses D’Addario strings.
